tAs you make your way through Slime Rancher 2, one of the main things you will be working toward is upgrading your gear! This can help you progress through areas and greatly increase your survival time as you explore Rainbow Island. The only way to really do this is with the Fabricator. The Fabricator, along with materials that you will pick up throughout your adventures, is used to upgrade your VacPack. One of the more useful upgrades you can get using the Fabricator is Tank Guard. Keep reading below to find out how to unlock the Tank Guard in Slime Rancher 2 and get upgrading!

Most of the Slime Rancher 2 upgrades only really require you to collect materials, just like in the original Slime Rancher. However, unlike the majority of upgrades, the Tank Guard required you to go and find a Tank Liner. The Tank Liner will be hidden in an area that will require some fighting to get to. Once you find it, you need to take it to the fabricator, and you will have the Tank Guard unlocked in Slime Rancher 2.

What is the Release Date for Slime Rancher 2?

When you set off to unlock the Tank Guard, you’ll have to do a bit of work and exploring. So, make sure you are prepared! Head out to the center portion of the mainland on Rainbow Island. There, you should find a cave that contains Phosphor Gordo Slime right inside the entrance. The Slime will be guarding the entrance, but don’t worry. It won’t be too hard to get past it. All you have to do is feed it a bunch of fruit until it bursts. Then, you will gain access to the rest of the cave. If you’ve forgotten to bring fruit with you, some can be found just outside of the cave.

Now, head deeper into the cave until you come across a door with a Tabby Slime statue next to it. You must shoot a Tabby Plort at the statue to open this door. You can obtain a Tabby Plort by feeding a Tabby Slime some meat.

Once you enter the door, you will find a small supply crate. Opening the crate will reveal the Tank Liner that you are looking for! Now, all you need to do is collect the materials required to craft the Tank Guard upgrade in Slime Rancher 2. The Tank Guard will allow you to keep some items in your VacPack, should you fall unconscious in your travels.
