These helpful tips will let you get ahead in Scrap Mechanic.

Scrap Mechanic is a creative construction and survival game. The game is still in Early Access but has a lot of content to enjoy. Scrap Mechanic has three game modes: Creative, Challenge, and Survival. In Creative Mode, you can build elaborate constructions and vehicles in peace. Challenge Mode gives you lots of levels and crafting tasks to achieve. But Survival Mode is where the most significant challenge lies.

Scrap Mechanic's Survival Mode is full of dangerous robots to defend yourself against as you settle down on the planet. You play as a mechanic that has crashed onto an agricultural world where the farming robots have malfunctioned. Surviving this chaotic planet will take a lot, so here are some helpful tips and tricks to use during your adventure.

Survival Mode begins with your character waking up outside their crashed ship. It is on fire, and it might be tempting to get away from it as quickly as possible. But, before you rush off into this enormous, replayable open-world, you should first make sure to loot the ship you crashed in entirely.

Around the ship, there will be plenty of crates that you can smash open to grab the loot which includes components and food to help you survive. It is also a good idea to grab a bucket and head to a nearby lake. You can use the water to put out the flames on the ship and explore inside of it as well. Also, make sure to grab the beds. The ship can act as an initial first base before you venture further.

The Wocs are friendly alien creatures that look very similar to cows. You'll mostly find them in meadows and forests. Although you could kill these lovable creatures for a Woc Steak, it is far better to keep them for a reliable source of Woc Milk instead. This milk is an excellent source for both thirst and hunger needs, especially early on when you haven't got a farm fully set up.

You need to feed the Woc pieces of corn to produce the milk. You can find plenty of corn plants all over the place. Just hit them with your hammer to get the pieces. The Woc will produce one milk bottle with every three pieces of corn they've consumed. You can also use the corn to lure the Wocs to your base. Just remember to feed them regularly, so they do not despawn. This way, you'll have a healthy supply of Milk.

Scrap Mechanic is full of wonderful resources and components for you to use. Even though the map is randomly generated, many structures will always be available. Warehouses and towers often have lots of damaged, green crates to loot. Keep an eye out for golden boxes, as these will have more valuable components, such as engines.

Knowing that you do not need to keep exploring further and further away from your base is helpful. After a few days, landmarks will reset. When you return, they should have new crates for you to loot. Make sure to look everywhere in a structure. Sometimes the chests are hidden, such as in hay piles. You want as many resources as possible, so keep looting as much as you can.

As with many deadly open-world games, you have a lot of enemies to keep an eye out for in Scrap Mechanic. The world is full of dangerous robots to fight, such as Totebots and Haybots. The Haybots, in particular, can be pretty deadly as they will often hunt in packs. If they get too close to you, a few hits, and you can quickly be defeated.

Luckily there are a few ways to deter the robots that will help you take them all on more easily. The bots will avoid water, so building your base near water is a good idea. Additionally, if you have a bucket or a water cannon, if you spray them with water, they will be electrocuted for a few seconds, allowing you time to get a few attacks in. The robots are also quite scared of saw blades and drills. Decorate your base and vehicle with blades, and the robots are less likely to attack. They eventually get braver, though, so they are not a permanent solution to bot attacks.

Your superb, custom vehicle is vital for exploration in this vast world of Scrap Mechanic. After finding the Builder Guide right near the crashed spaceship, you can start constructing your first vehicle quite soon in the game. But early on, finding the necessary parts and keeping your vehicle functioning is more difficult.

As you drive around, you will draw the attention of many robots that will likely strike the wheels and engine first. A great way to combat this is to have a layer around the wheels to block these attacks. It could be as simple as a line of wood sticking out to circle the vehicle. This cheap, simple-to-craft defense will help you to avoid losing a wheel early on.

For Scrap Mechanic, farming isn't as peaceful as in other games. The helpful farming guide near the lake beside the crashed spaceship does not prepare you for what happens when you plant too many crops at once. Early in the morning, you will be alerted that unauthorized farming has been detected. A countdown will begin before a wave of robots will arrive to try and destroy your crops. The higher quality of produce you have, the more dangerous the robots will be. Additionally, each night, the waves of robots will get stronger and stronger.

There are plenty of ways to avoid this. To begin with, having your farm well defended with walls and deterrents is a good start. You can also try having smaller patches of farmland for different crops, separating them into more manageable zones. It is also a good idea to have breaks from farming to reset the raid level to a more manageable threat. As long as you are careful and organized, you should be free to farm without too much distress.

Being able to heal and revive your friends is vital when exploring structures far away from your home. Some warehouses can be especially difficult, with more advanced robots guarding them. When setting off on an adventure like this, ensure you and your friends have an ample supply of Revival Baguettes. You can sometimes find them in Golden Crates. But it is easiest to go to the Cookbot and let them create these delicious meals for you. You need to feed the baguette to your fallen friend to bring them back into action.

It is important to note that you can not use the revival baguettes when playing Solo. Instead, make sure to take a few beds with you when exploring. They act as a respawn point. So you could place a bed on your vehicle or outside a tower you plan to raid. Be wary, though, that these beds only have a limited amount of uses before they break. So your respawn point is not permanent.

Scrap Mechanic has several vital landmarks, but the most important ones are the Mechanic Station, Packing Stations, and the Farmer's Hideout. Following the beginning quests, you can get a waypoint to the Mechanic Station via your Logbook. Otherwise, follow the main road, and you will eventually stumble upon it. This is true for the other stations as well.

The Mechanic Station provides a Craftbot and a Dispenserbot. Both are vital for progression, allowing you to craft more bots and components. The station will help you upgrade your vehicle. As you add your unique style, this vehicle will soon become your pride and joy. Next, you'll want to head to the Packing Stations to turn your crops into Produce Crates. You can sell these bundles at the Farmer's Hideout. Here you'll get lots of unique items in exchange for crops that will help you thrive on this robot-controlled planet.
