At least two dozen pallets of non-perishable jam, peanut butter, spaghetti, corn and more were donated to SC Grocery on Tuesday to help bridge the gap of food insecurity that other local food banks cannot always accommodate.

“While the food donation comes from far away, the support is close to home,” said Jed McNeil from LDS Donations in Bakersfield. “We have farms and food production all over and we received a lot of word from LDS churches in Santa Clarita to help support.”

Bradley Grose, Founder of SC Grocery, noted that the help from LDS donations has been invaluable, especially at a time when the non-profit is serving over 4,200 people a month.

“There are two camps of charity in SCV – Tribal or Service. Tribal is it’s all about their organization, about how much money they raise and “need” and want, about how important they are serving the SCV Community,” Grose said. “Service is where you’re invisible, doing what needs to be done, building relationships with guests who have been hit hard by the pandemic.”

According to Grose, the mission of SC Grocery is partially guided by the same principles that guide his work at Disney: “understanding the value of serving those who show up, not calling them clients, but valuing their relationship to the point of calling them guests – who we actually want to see weekly.”

Grose and the Santa Clarita Grocery volunteer team are committed to fighting hunger all year round in the Santa Clarita Community, making a profound difference in the lives of over 1,200 families monthly and do not plan on stopping any time soon.

“Santa Clarita Grocery is an all-volunteer operation. Nobody is on payroll,” Grose said. “As we serve our community, they experience our heart, our love for them, and the time we are investing for their goodwill; which includes us buying 200 gallons of 2% milk weekly and 200 dozen farm fresh eggs weekly to ensure they have fresh dairy. We would love your volunteer support, any contributions, and your support.”

Spelling is important. PALLET not pallette

Humanity at it’s best. Very thoughtful.

They are rotating out old stock from their doomsday supplies to tempt palletes. They stockpile guns and ammo, too. That is a very scary “religion”, that discusses theocracy: government by religion. They were chased to Utah, and founder was killed in a jailbreak shootout in Illinois, by a crowd that came to lynch him. Christianity wasn’t good for them, so they made up a new one.

Bravo Ben Dover. Ignorance at its best. You know, it is better not to say anything and be thought a fool than to say something and confirm it.
