Pokemon has an enormous roster of collectible companions, and every game adds more. Some of the iconic creatures aren't exactly a part of the official count, though, nor are they entirely stable.

Though less frequent from generation six onwards, glitch Pokemon have always held a niche place in the hearts of fans. From their hilarious graphics and absurd movesets to intriguing side effects, these glitches have been sought after by many — in spite of the risks they might bring to your game's save file.

Black 2 and White 2 introduced Pokestar Studios, where you could battle in unique encounters and star in your very own movies. Some of these battles included special opponents and even set props, like Brycen-Man, Majin, a UFO, and even a Black or White Door.

However, all these enemies are also technically glitch Pokemon. They can only be accessed through the aid of cheating technology. But once unlocked, they can be encountered randomly in the wild, like usual Pokemon, and can then be caught and used in battle.

DPBox is a universal generation four glitch Pokemon. It always appears as a Shiny, male Normal-type Pokemon, with the cry of a Bulbasaur, and no apparent sprite. The easiest way to access it is through using the Pomeg Glitch in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

If used in a Single battle, DPBox has no moves of its own, and you'll need to run away, or switch Pokemon if in a Trainer battle. If DPBox is the only useable Pokemon in the team, you'll black out after its turn ends. In a Double Battle, though, DPBox can use Struggle to fight. It can also walk behind you in HeartGold and SoulSilver, appearing as a regular Bulbasaur, but talking to it will crash the game.

oEeAi is a generation three glitch Pokemon, found only in FireRed and LeafGreen. To access this glitch Pokemon, you need to trade a Pokemon affected by the Pomeg Glitch from Pokemon Emerald, to either of the two games. The traded Pokemon will have what the game considers "negative" health, and when a healing item is used on said Pokemon, oEeAi will appear.

oEeAi can't be viewed in your party, and only has a battle sprite, which consists of a plain, cream-colored square. It has the same cry as Bulbasaur, doesn't have any known moves, and is of an unknown type. oEeAi, if sent out into battle, will cause the game to lock up, though the effects can be reversed by doing a soft reset.

? is a universal generation three glitch Pokemon. It's only accessible through use of cheating devices in Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, and LeafGreen. However, a sub-glitch of the Pomeg glitch, known as "Glitzer Popping", can allow you to obtain the Pokemon without a device in Pokemon Emerald.

? is a relatively stable glitch Pokemon. Its sprite is a floating question mark, and has the same cry as the Pokemon Unown. It has the same base stats as Deoxys, but no Ability, and no gender. It appears as a Normal-type Pokemon, can only know the move Tackle, and can evolve into another glitch Pokemon known as "Bad Egg". While stable, it can't be transferred to any generation four games.

Not to be confused with Bad Egg glitches, the Glitch Egg is a universal, generation two glitch Pokemon. It can be obtained in Gold, Silver, or Crystal by using the Celebi Egg glitch. This is a combination of another generation two glitch — cloning — alongside breeding two regular Pokemon, for the chance to produce the titular Celebi, or in this case, the Glitch Egg.

Glitch Egg appears as a normal Egg sprite, both in battle and in your party. It has no base stats or typing, but can still be used in battle, and has its own glitchy Pokedex entry. If used in Gold and Silver, though, the battle will instantly end, and you'll be sent to a glitch dimension. In Crystal, however, Glitch Egg can fight normally, using only Struggle, but it can't be healed if it faints.

Five Question Marks is a universal, generation two glitch Pokemon. It has several variations, some more stable and useable than others. The FF variant is one of these more stable versions. Like the Glitch Egg, it's accessed through the Celebi Egg glitch in either Gold or Silver — it must be traded to acquire it in Crystal.

Five Question Mark's in-game sprite appears as a grayscale box of glitched-out characters from the game, and is a Glitch-Normal dua-type. It doesn't evolve, and has no learnable moves via leveling up. However, it can learn several TMs and HMs, making it viable in battles. Using the Time Capsule Exploit glitch, Five Question Marks can convert any generation two Pokemon placed after it in the party into a common generation one glitch Pokemon — 'M/3TrainerPoke$.

LM4 or 7g is a generation one glitch Pokemon, with the former being in Red and Blue, and the latter being the Yellow equivalent. Both variants can be accessed by using the Time Capsule Exploit on Croconaw, or by using the Mew glitch on a Pokemon with a special stat of 198. Trading between Red or Blue to Yellow changes LM4 to 7g, and vice versa.

LM4 is a Water-Fighting dual-type, while 7g is Water-Psychic. The sprites of both games consist of a simple, glitched box, while its cries vary between Red and Blue, versus Yellow — the Red and Blue cry will be a slowed-down Pallet Town theme, whereas Yellow's cry will be a slowed-down Hall of Fame theme. LM4 will evolve into Clefairy at level 18, and then immediately into Nidoking. 7g will evolve into a Cubone at level 125, or it can evolve into another glitch Pokemon, ..I'., at level 209.

a/44Hy is another generation one glitch Pokemon. a is the Red and Blue variant, while 44Hy is the Yellow variant. a and 44Hy can be accessed by performing the Mew glitch on a Pokemon with a special stat of 192 in Red, Blue, and Yellow. 44Hy can also be accessed by using the Time Capsule Exploit on Bayleef in Pokemon Yellow.

'M/3TrainerPoke$ is a generation one glitch Pokemon, with 'M being the Red and Blue variant, and 3TrainerPoke$ being the Yellow variant. 'M can be accessed by using the Old Man glitch in Red and Blue. 3TrainerPoke$ can be accessed in Yellow by evolving another glitch Pokemon, p.

'M is a Bird-Normal dual-type Pokemon, and 3TrainerPoke$ is a Glitch-Normal dual-type, with the same cry as Zapdos. 'M's sprite is the same as another glitch Pokemon, Missingno, while 3TraikerPoke$'s sprite is a glitch column. Both Pokemon have a split evolutionary line, evolving into either a Kangaskhan or Clefairy. 'M creates a duplication glitch on the sixth item in your bag, and can corrupt Hall of Fame data, while encountering and defeating 3TrainerPoke$ can crash the game.

MissingNo is a universal generation one glitch Pokemon. It's accessed by using the Old Man or Mew glitch in Red and Blue. In Yellow, you can use the Mew glitch or Time Capsule Exploit to access it.

MissingNo appears as a Bird-Normal dual-type in Red and Blue, or as a Normal-999 dual-type in Yellow, and has the cry of a male Nidoran. It has several possible sprites, with Yellow's being a single, glitched graphics box. Red and Blue's MissingNo can appear as a glitched column, the generic Ghost sprite, the Aerodactyl fossil, or Kabutops fossil, depending on what you input as your name. Like 'M, MissingNo causes an item duplication glitch on the sixth item in your bag.
